Billing via UNIQA Legal Protection Insurance
If legal protection insurance through UNIQA is in place, UNIQA covers the costs for legal disputes. Depending on the insurance contract, this includes one’s own and the opposing party’s attorney fees, court fees, expert witness fees, witness fees, and any other procedural costs.
If coverage by UNIQA is confirmed, Harlander & Partner Attorneys GmbH bills all costs covered by the insurance contract directly with the legal protection insurance provider.

Process with UNIQA Legal Protection Insurance
Free initial consultation
The first step in handling a legal matter with UNIQA Legal Protection Insurance is a free and non-binding initial consultation. This conveniently takes place via video conference or telephone. This allows UNIQA policyholders to speak with an expert at short notice.
During the initial consultation for UNIQA policyholders, we clarify whether we can take on the legal matter. Our attorneys have a wide range of specializations. Nevertheless, there are cases we cannot cover. In such instances, we are happy to recommend another specialist.
Power of Attorney
In the next step, we will send you the power of attorney. This already includes the note that the first action will be a coverage inquiry to UNIQA, and that billable processing will await the coverage confirmation.
Request for coverage
After receiving the power of attorney and initial information about the legal matter, we submit a coverage inquiry to UNIQA Legal Protection Insurance based on this information. This service is also free of charge for UNIQA policyholders, even if legal protection coverage is denied.
Confirmation of coverage
In the event of a coverage confirmation, UNIQA Legal Protection Insurance covers the costs of the legal dispute to the extent of the insurance contract. Often, there are small deductibles or a limitation of cost reimbursement to out-of-court or court costs.
Billing
Wherever possible, billing is done directly with UNIQA Insurance, so that their policyholders do not have any effort with submitting reimbursement requests.
