Billing via ADVOCARD legal expenses insurance
If you have legal expenses insurance with ADVOCARD, ADVOCARD covers the costs of legal disputes. Depending on the insurance contract, this includes your own and the opposing party’s legal fees, court fees, expert witness fees, witness fees, and any other procedural costs.
If ADVOCARD provides legal expenses coverage, Harlander & Partner Rechtsanwälte GmbH bills all costs covered under the insurance contract directly with the legal expenses insurer.

Process with ADVOCARD legal expenses insurance
Free initial consultation
The first step in handling a legal matter with ADVOCARD legal expenses insurance is a free, non-binding initial consultation. This can conveniently take place via video conference or telephone. This means ADVOCARD policyholders can always speak to an expert at short notice.
As part of the initial consultation for ADVOCARD policyholders, we clarify whether we can take on the case. Our attorneys have a broad range of specializations. However, there are cases we cannot cover. In such cases, we will be happy to recommend another specialist.
Power of Attorney
In the next step, we will send you the power of attorney. It already includes the note that, as the first action, a coverage request will be submitted to ADVOCARD and that we will wait for the confirmation of coverage before commencing any work subject to fees.
Request for coverage
After receiving the power of attorney and the initial information about the matter, we submit a coverage request to ADVOCARD legal expenses insurance based on this information. This service is also free of charge for ADVOCARD policyholders, even if legal expenses coverage is denied.
Confirmation of coverage
If coverage is confirmed, ADVOCARD legal expenses insurance covers the costs of the legal dispute within the scope of the insurance contract. Often there are small deductibles or a limitation of reimbursement to out-of-court or court costs.
Billing
Where possible, billing is handled directly with ADVOCARD insurance, so that policyholders do not have to submit reimbursement applications themselves.
