Doctors

Doctors are not allowed to advertise in a way that is unprofessional, untrue, or impairs the reputation of the profession. The Medical Association has issued the regulation “Doctor and the Public” to specify these requirements. According to the regulation, advertising is unprofessional and therefore prohibited if it contradicts scientific findings or medical experience. According to the regulation, the reputation of the profession is violated, for example, if doctors make derogatory remarks about other doctors or their medical methods. Even stricter advertising restrictions apply to cosmetic surgery.

In any case, advertising for medicinal products and remedies is inadmissible. Doctors are also not allowed to advertise for the manufacturers and distributors of medicinal products.

Healthcare and Nursing Professions

The advanced service for healthcare and nursing as well as nursing assistance are also confronted with advertising restrictions. For example, advertising that diminishes the professional reputation of the healthcare and nursing professions, comparative, discriminatory or unprofessional advertising is prohibited.

Civil Engineers

Civil engineers are prohibited from any advertising that is misleading, confusing or disparaging.

Physiotherapists

Physiotherapists are not allowed to place any advertising that is detrimental to their professional reputation. In particular, any comparative, discriminatory or unprofessional advertising is prohibited.

Certified Public Accountants

Certified public accountants must practice their profession conscientiously, diligently, independently, independently and with due regard to the duty of confidentiality. They, too, are not allowed to place any advertising that is detrimental to their professional reputation.
