If you have legal protection insurance with SIGNAL IDUNA, SIGNAL IDUNA covers the costs of legal disputes. Depending on the insurance contract, this includes your own and the opposing party’s attorney fees, court fees, expert witness fees, witness fees, and any other procedural costs.
When legal protection coverage with SIGNAL IDUNA is in place, Harlander & Partner Rechtsanwälte GmbH bills all costs covered by the insurance contract directly to the legal protection insurance.

The first step in handling a legal matter with SIGNAL IDUNA legal protection insurance is a free and non-binding initial consultation. This takes place conveniently via video conference or telephone. This allows SIGNAL IDUNA policyholders to speak with an expert at short notice.

Power of Attorney
In the next step, we will send you the power of attorney. This already includes a note that the first action will be to submit a coverage inquiry to SIGNAL IDUNA and that fee-based processing will await the coverage confirmation.
Request for coverage
After receiving the power of attorney and the initial information about the legal matter, we submit a coverage inquiry to SIGNAL IDUNA legal protection insurance based on this information. This service is also free of charge for SIGNAL IDUNA policyholders, even in the event of a denial of legal protection coverage.
Confirmation of coverage
In the event of coverage confirmation, SIGNAL IDUNA legal protection insurance covers the costs of the legal dispute to the extent of the insurance contract. There are often small deductibles or a limitation of cost reimbursement to out-of-court or court costs.
Billing
Whenever possible, billing is handled directly with SIGNAL IDUNA insurance, so that their policyholders do not have to deal with submitting cost reimbursement applications.
