Market Surveillance
Within the framework of market surveillance, the Eichamt Bregenz checks whether products endanger the health or safety of users or do not comply with harmonisation legislation applicable within the European Union.
If this is the case, the Eichamt Bregenz shall ensure that these products are withdrawn from the market or that their provision on the market is prohibited or restricted.
In addition, the Eichamt Bregenz, within the framework of market surveillance, ensures that the public, the European Commission and the other Member States are informed about such products.
Market surveillance is carried out both by a central office in Vienna and by the individual Eichämter in the federal states, such as the Eichamt Bregenz.
